Halldór took over as CEO of Heimar in May 2023. 

Halldór Benjamín was the CEO of the Confederation of Icelandic Employers since 2016, but previously served as Senior Vice President of Business Development at Icelandair Group hf. Halldór Benjamín has extensive experience in the business sector, as an economist and later Executive Director of the Icelandic Chamber of Commerce.

He served on Business Europe‘s Executive Committe from 2020-2022 and has been a member of the Board of Directors of Reykjavík University since 2017. He is Chairman of the Board of Almannarómur, the Icelandic Centre for Language Technology.

Halldór is an economist with a degree from the University of Iceland and holds an MBA with distinction from Oxford University.
